The term “civic legal” refers to the legal aspects of a civic service. Thus, the “Civic Legal Network©” program provides access to civic legal services for our 21st Century Unified Muslim Society’s members that are critical to our civic legal needs.
The program is for Lawyers, Paralegal, other Legal Professionals, and Legal Advocates to join, present their professional expertise or companies with the following legal resources and services:
- Family legal services
- Immigration legal services
- Civic legal services
- Business legal services
- Criminal legal services
The program is also for our members (Families, Young Muslims, Sisters, Professionals, and Businesses) to engage with our civic legal experts with the following opportunities:
- Develop a passion in civic legal services
- Develop an interest to be an active civic legal advocate or a member of the political party (e.g., running for the office)
- Participate in civic legal internship, and subsequently develop either a career or a volunteer role in civic legal services
The Civic Legal Professionals will serve as our Advocates for this program, as well as advisors providing guidance to this program, including:
- civic legal leadership’s charter
- civic legal user requirements (i.e., common civic legal use cases, common civic legal needs)
- civic legal capabilities
- civic legal risks
- civic legal strategies
It is a collaborative effort to bringing Civic Legal Professionals to meet the needs of our members; as well as bringing our members to develop an interest, passion, career or volunteer role in civic legal services, working and learning alongside with our Civic Legal Professionals, InshaAllah!
